A smart ring that monitors your diet ? That’s one of the bold claims being made by the inventors of Bioring – a new smart ring.
Launched this month on Indiegogo, and currently in the working prototype phase, the waterproof device packs in a 3-axis accelerometer, bio-impedance sensor and optical heart rate sensor to capture data from your finger. It promises to give you a step up on the fitness trackers currently available with its ability to monitor calorie intake as opposed to calorie burn, which its creators believes is the more useful data to know when you’re trying to lose weight.
The device is set to launch in August 2016 but no word yet on cost or availability.
