Headphones. We all need them. How else are we going to ignore everybody else as we wander through our day? There is music to listen to, podcasts to absorb, viral videos to watch in private. However, we’ve come a long way from those halcyon days of 2008 when everyone had a crappy pair of white earbuds. Nowadays, headphones are advancing about as rapidly as every other field of wearable tech. Many of them are wireless and most of them offer some other kind of functionality besides garden variety sound listening. Speaking of, here is perhaps the most tech forward pair of cans in the entire industry, Ladies and gentlemen, Parrot’s Zik 2.0
Parrot have been a player in the headphone scene for a while now and their original Zik headphones were an absolute marvel of form and function, so it should come as no surprise that the follow up edition is also filled to the brim with bells and whistles. What do they do? Well, first and foremost they use Bluetooth technology to get rid of those ornery wires and cables, which has become standard. They also bring noise cancelation into the mix and a suite of touchscreen elements that makes navigating through your music a breeze. Also, the designers have taken great pains to maximize the quality of the audio you’ll be hearing when you put them over your ears. All in all, they are some of the most impressive headphones you can buy.
The Zik 2.0 is available right now. That’s the good news. The bad news? A pair will set you back an astounding $399, or approximately 85 pairs of crappy gas station earbuds. Hey, you get what you pay for, right? Here is a video on more of the features.
