We all need all the help we can get to help us get off of our keisters and get those keisters to the gym, or street or wherever else we happen to do that thing we call “exercise.” Thus, the wearable technology industry has made it a point to release a bevy of useful fitness trackers, be they in the form of an armband or, well, usually an armband. However, some companies have been prepping earphones that perform similar duties, being as how hanging out inside of your ear canal is a great place to record your heartbeat. Why, here is one such device right now.
Introducing the FreeWavz wireless headphone system. First of all, as I just suggested, these mini-cans are completely wireless so you won’t have to worry about tripping over your headphone cord as you try to do your daily 90 seconds of exercise. Also, it tracks your vitals, including heart rate, calories burned and more. Finally, the FreeWayz system does something that a lot of ear buds don’t care enough to do. It actually fits in your ears, and won’t fly off mid jog because it actually wasn’t designed for the human ear for some reason.
These headphones aren’t available in stores yet. Actually, the company hasn’t even secured final funding, so guess what they did? That’s right, they avoided Kickstarter at all costs. Wait a minute. It’s actually the exact opposite of that. Here is their Kickstarter site. You can preorder your own for around $179 or so. We’ll report more on these if we get a chance to try them out.
