Apple have finally revealed their long – rumoured smart watch product.
The Apple Watch comes in two sizes and three distinct collections – including sport, standard and ‘edition’ (made from 18 carat gold) It also has a wide choice of watch interfaces and straps. Unsurprisingly it has health and fitness features and is claimed to be accurate to within +/- 50 milliseconds.
Smart replies and dictation will let you respond quickly to messages. You can also share images, or something as subtle as your own heartbeat
The demonstration shows that the device is touchscreen, so you can scroll through by swiping your finger. Alternatively, you can highlight bits of infomation by rotating the crown on the side – deliberately designed so it doesn’t interfere with the screen. As you’d expect, the device syncs with the new iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, and makes full use of Apple’s Siri technology.
The device goes on sale in early 2015 and will be priced at $349 in the US. No word yet on UK pricing.
