Last November, we introduced you to the Misfit Wearables Shine – a small elegant fitness tracker that could clip to your clothes and track things like how many steps you’ve taken, how far you’ve ridden on your bicycle, and so on. Recently it was announced that the Misfit Shine would be sold at Apple Stores accross the United States, Canada, Hong Kong and Japan.
The Misfit Shine has had a lucky streak since it was first introduced to the world through an Indiegogo campaign that raised $846,675 – more than 8 times the original goal of $100,000.
The biggest selling point of the Misfit Shine is that it’s elegant and stylish. There are many fitness monitors out there, and many that can outperform the Misfit Shine, but not many at all that look as good. It has a very simplistic design, and it let’s you know how close you are to reaching your goals through a series of LED lights placed carefully along the face of the device. I can also sync to an iOS app, which gives the user more information about their goals and how well they are going with them.
Misfit Wearables will also be selling a number of accessories for the device, including a wrist band, necklace and other bands for the device to be worn in ways other than by clipping to your clothes.
Reportedly, the name “Misfit” is a nod to the great Steve Jobs’ “think different” mentality, making it unsurprising that the Shine will be sold at Apple Stores. Not only that, but it’s elegant design makes it a perfect fit for Apple devices, which are built with a sleek and polished look.
The device is also not far off from being sold in the rest of the world. In fact, next month it will start to be sold in Apple Stores across Europe and Australia. It is being sold currently for $99.95. It is compatible with both iOS and Android, and connects via Bluetooth.
